Punch-box Fortunes

Keeping Up With Kids

I’m a tactile person, so imagine my delight the other day when I was in the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire and I found this cool-as-can-be punch-box book fortune:

Behind these tantalizing little tissue-paper circles are little fortunes, like:

  • You will read a fractured fairy tale or fairy tale retelling.
  • You will see a movie based on a book.
  • You will use Freading or Freegal from the library’s website to download an audiobook or music for
    free.
  • You will choose a bookwith an orange cover.

Here’s what Jessi, the mastermind behind this ultra-cool project says:

I never throw anything away and everyone here knows it, so Jill has been saving me her cupcake holders from her book club meetings for a while.  The punched out tissue paper is easy and cheap enough to replace, and it’s been getting good usage – I just replaced all the punched out holes yesterday.

*2/27/17:  I’m sorry to say that I no longer have access to the PDF or other information about this great idea, but I bet you can figure something out! *
