Thanks to Colleen at Chippewa Falls for this guest post!

Libraries that have iPads may benefit from downloading the app from the iTunes store called AppsGone Free. Every day a few designated apps are free to download. Read the ratings & reviews to determine whether the apps are a good addition to your libraries’ iPads.

For example the other day, the Chippewa Falls youth dept downloaded an app called Scrap It HD. With it they could host a digital scrapbooking session. Maybe tell patrons to bring 3 pictures in each and upload  those photos to a few ipads with that app on them. Patrons can add borders, text, icons, and more and then upload their creations to a social networking software of their choosing. It could be a fun & creative way to use current technology to connect with patrons. AppsGone Free. is a great way to download apps that normally cost anywhere from 99 cents to $10.00. Check-it-out!

Here is a photo CFPL created in Scrap It. It has all kinds of possible uses-promoting books, etc.
