Keeping Up With Kids

I found the best idea on the So Tomorrow Blog about using cotton balls and a parachute together to create a storytime blizzard!  What fun!  That got me wondering what other great ideas for using parachutes were out there.
Storytime Source Page has a great list of ideas/songs/books that work well with a parachute.
I also found a Pinterest page devoted to parachute ideas!
There’s lots more out there, what are your favorite activities?  Remember, there is a parachute in each of the IFLS Large Motor Story Kits, and also a parachute in the Mischief and Color story kits.  If you want to try before you buy, reserve one of these kits and see what all the fuss is about.
One caveat:  when I used parachutes a lot in a toddler program, there was the occasional kid who was very scared of the parachute.  Be sure to let parents know that you are going to get the parachute out, and to watch the kids–if anyone is feeling scared under the parachute, parents can scoop them out to help hold the parachute with the adults, or even watch the whole proceedings from a safe distance, across the room!
