Saturday, August 30, is that last day of the public passport program. (Staff can continue until September 15.) Thanks to everybody for being part of the passport program again this year! If you have comments or suggestions, send them to me by email.
Here’s what you should do sometime in the first week of September:
-
Send all your entry forms through courier to Reb at IFLS.
-
Keep your tally sheet until September 15 to capture any staff visits. Scan it and email to Reb by the 17th at kilde@ifls.lib.wi.us.
-
Keep your stickers to use for staff passports. If you get staff entry forms, stick them in courier.
-
Recycle/dispose of passports (blank or filled out), unused stickers, any other paperwork on September 15.
- Prizes will be sent through courier to the winner’s home library for pickup. I appreciate pics, but not necessary. I’ll send an email when I put the prizes in courier.
FAQs
Q: What if somebody comes in on Tuesday and asks to redeem for an entry form?
A: I think that’s fine if you’re comfortable with it. Don’t advertise, but if someone misunderstood that deadline and cares enough to come in and ask I’d give them the benefit of the doubt. Don’t bend the deadline past Tuesday, though.
Q: Why doesn’t the program go all year?
A: Participation in this kind of program goes down when you extend the run time.
Q: When will you draw for prizes?
A: Mid-September. I’ll announce the winners on Facebook, in Weekly Digest, in The News from IFLS, and on the public-facing Passport Page.
