Weekly Digest on vacation next week
It might be going to the beach. Definitely some ice cream on the agenda. Watch for the next Digest on July 23rd.
Do-it-yourself Passports and Stickers
Quite a number of libraries have asked about printing passports and stickers in-house. Reb didn’t want to make that added work an expectation at a very busy time. If it makes things easier for y’all, Reb is happy to make that happen! Rest assured you can still request additional passport materials by submitting a HelpDesk ticket.
Print a Passport
- Download the pdf to print your passport.
- Print it double-sided at 100%. (Many copiers default to 97%, which will make the pagination a little wonky.)
- Cut it in half so that you have two sets of 8.5″ x 5.5″ sheets.
- Put them in order, fold, and staple.
Print Stickers
- These are laid out for Avery 1″ x 1″ round stickers, 63 per sheet.
- Open the pdf of stickers. The pdf is sorted alphabetically by location, not name.
- Use search to find your sticker sheet.
- Print at 100% in color. Make sure you only print your sheet! I’ve made the mistake before!

Make Data Work for Your Library: Getting Started with WI Public Library Dashboards, Friday, July 24, 10:00-11:30 am. Presented by Kim Kiesewetter, Consultant and Data Analyst at WILS and Tim Drexler, Data Services Administrator, SCLS
Data can help libraries tell their stories, advocate, and make important decisions. The Wisconsin Public Library Consortium (WPLC) Data Dashboard, the SCLS Fast Facts, and the WPLC Data Use Toolkit are available to all public libraries in Wisconsin, but it can be intimidating to get started. Just in time for budget season, this webinar will walk you through several scenarios and ways to use the dashboards to help you find the data you need to tell your story or make your decisions efficiently and effectively.
Learning outcomes:
- Participants will have a basic understanding of the WILS Data Dashboard and the SCLS Fast Facts tools
- Participants will come away with ways to use data to assist with advocacy and decisions and an understanding of how to access the data they need
Schedule:
- 10:00-11:00: Presentation (recorded), followed by a short break
- 11:00-11:30: Q & A (not recorded)
This webinar supplies 1.5 contact hours for public library director certification. The first hour will be recorded and captioned and available after the webinar.
