- What defines a good conversation for me?
- How do I want to feel during conversations?
- What are my ultimate goals for communicating with this person or group?
- What negative outcome do I believe will happen? (e.g., “I’ll be rejected,” “I’ll hurt them,” “I’ll be seen as weak”)
- What positive outcome could come from this conversation?
Answer the following questions with Yes or No.
- Am I truly listening, or just waiting to speak?
- Do I ask clarifying questions?
- Do I reflect back what I hear?
