Christopher Mick was able to attend the Lead the Way: Libraries at the Heart of Community Engagement Conference in Madison in April. His costs were defrayed by two things:
- First, he submitted a proposal to present about a program related to bringing the solar system to Hudson. His proposal was selected, and that came with a free registration for the conference.
- Second, he applied for a scholarship from IFLS to pay for mileage and hotel stay. The IFLS scholarships are funded with a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, with dollars coming from the federal Institute for Museum and Library Services.
Christopher created a half hour presentation about some of his key take-aways from the conference experience. If you want to just check out the slides he created, they are also available.
Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm and experience, Christopher!
