Ellsworth’s Baby Bag Contents

Many libraries, in conjunction with their Friends group, provide a pack of books and information for babies born in their area.  If you don’t do it yet, you can take inspiration from Ellsworth, where they recently started this program.  I like how they include a gift for mom, too.  Jeanne Friedell helped to conceive of the program and consulted on the contents.

Here are the contents of each bag:
  • Two board books
  • Hand-made soap from Peaceful Valley Acres, Maiden Rock (for Mom)
  • Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library Brochure
  • Growing Wisconsin Readers (WI Dept. of Public Instruction)
  • Ellsworth Public Library Brochure
  • Ellsworth Public Library Card Application
  • 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Information and bookmark
  • Welcome New Baby! A book list for new brothers and sisters
  • Talk, Read, Sing bookmark from Success by Six St. Croix Valley
