Keeping Up With Kids

Since I started this blog more than three years ago, I’ve never lost track of posting for so long–more than 2 weeks!   I kept putting this on my list of things to do and it kept falling off the end as I frantically tried to keep up with grant-writing, consulting, preparing for the Wisconsin Youth Services Institute (read about that amazing adventure here), and several other big projects.

At any rate, I’m back!  And I want to make sure you know about Read for the Record, a national project from the early literacy group Jumpstart, trying to get as many people as possible to read the same picture book on the same day–October 3.  This year’s book is Otis, by Loren Long.  Jumpstart has pulled together activity guides and planning materials (including help with publicity).

If you decide to do this, I’d love to hear about how it goes!

And now that I’m back to posting, please send along ideas and photos, or requests for topics to cover.
