Okay, I know at least some of you are book geeks like me! You are interested in who wins the Newbery, Caldecott, and other ALA Awards. Not just so you can be sure to have copies of them, but also because you just really want to know. And for those of you who, like me, don’t have the cash to travel to Midwinter to hear the announcement live, you can participate in the excitement remotely.

ALA will provide a free live webcast of its Youth Media Awards. The number of available connections for the Webcast are limited and the broadcast is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Online visitors can view the live Webcast the morning of the announcements. Those interested in following the action live should bookmark http://alawebcast.unikron.com/. The Youth Media Awards will begin at 7:45 a.m. PST on Jan. 10, 2011 (that’s 9:45 our time), but visitors should be able to begin logging on to the Webcast at 7:30 a.m. PST.
